1 Write your design brief. Remember your brief must be specific to the context and allow for as much creativity as possible.
2 Your specifications and constraints lists must include that pressing either one of the panic buttons turns on the alarm.

1 Make a circuit drawing of your system, using the correct symbols and conventions.

1 Make your panic button system using the equipment supplied by your teacher.
2 You must make your switches yourself using scrap materials. 3 Test your system and record whether it works. 4 Make notes on how you think your system can be improved.

Draw up a truth table for your device
1 Draw up a truth table for your panic button system. 2 Make sure that either panic button switch will turn on the alarm. 3 Indicate what sort of logic gate this truth table represents.
(10) Activity 8 Make a poster to advertise your system
As soon as you have finished your device, make a poster to advertise your system. Posters must be readable from at least four metres away, and must be eye-catching.
