Lanyards win by a neck

Blue ones, yellow ones, pink ones; almost everyone has one, from the street vendor to the office executive. If you’re a fashion slave, you would find one to match every outfit. It holds keys, a cellphone and even an access card. What is it? It’s a lanyard and it’s fast becoming a fashion accessory. The popular lanyard is basically a strip of material worn around the neck to which you can attach a cellphone, a bunch of keys or maybe an identification card. The latest accessory craze is taking the fashion scene by storm and anyone from teenyboppers to office executives can be seen wearing them. Lanyards have been here for a while, but people continue to match their lanyards to their outfits. They want to look cool but they want to make it appear casual. Lanyards have made their appearance in offices, homes, schools, and so on. The possibility is that they may be around for years to come. So where did the lanyard originate? In the days of war, soldiers wore a cord around their neck to carry a knife or a whistle. Kelly Crause, a sales representative at Proplast, a company that manufactures lanyards, said, “Lanyards are very popular with businesses; they are a fantastic marketing tool.” Crause also said that lanyards were cheap to make and that the product was extremely successful in South Africa. Companies use them to advertise their products and they are also used at conferences, meetings and other events as a source of identification. They are a brilliant way of getting exposure.
