Draft Write your own address and date at the top of a piece of paper. Write your three paragraphs and the conclusion. Pay attention to the order of your sentences and paragraphs. Try to use a variety of sentence types and try to link sentences with conjunctions.


Edit Check your draft for spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. Make sure that your letter has three paragraphs and is not more than 160 words in length.


Read your draft again. Is the format of your letter correct? Have you expressed your appreciation well?


Proofread


Present Write the final version of your letter and hand it to your teacher for assessment.


Formal Assessment: Your teacher will assess both the format (10 marks) and the language (10 marks) of your letter for formal assessment.

• A prefix changes the meaning of the word. Example: agree – disagree


• A suffix changes the grammar of the word. Example: agree (verb) – agreement (noun)
