Faircracker SPRING 2021

What is UCA? The United Concessionaires Association is an all volunteer run communications or- ganization working to improve the relationship with our fairs and festivals, regulatory authorities, industry organizations and fellow members. Since April 2020, we have grown from our founding seven members to 99 regis-

tered members and 416 social media members. UCA was invited to speak at the Florida Federation of Fairs Summer/Fall workshop

and from that meeting collaborated with the Osceola County Fair management to produce a successful three day fall family festival. This event allowed concessionaires to get back to work and gave the community a safe and fun place to celebrate Halloween with their families. UCA’s board meets weekly and hosts monthly Membership Zoom Meetings. Since last April we have had fair

managers, show owners, food purveyors, production companies, fair association presidents and fellow business owners share their experiences and insights. Danny Alfonso, Manatee County Fair Manager, was our first guest speaker of 2021. The Manatee County Fair

was one of the first Florida Fairs to open. They opened fully, safely, and successfully. Mr. Alfonso shared two hours with our membership and other fair managers from across the country answering the many questions fairs still have about re-opening. Mr. Alfonso’s talk received such positive feedback that we are continuing the conversation in March with Danny

Aguilar of The Delaware State Fair to answer any questions and to help other fairs re-open safely and successfully in 2021!
