Lake County Fair introduces their new Fair Ambassador, Mayor Ferris Wheeler
as part of their 100 Year Anniversary Celebration
set to open Thursday, April 8th and will run through April 17th. This 10-day event at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Eustis will feature livestock shows & youth exhibits, live entertain- ment, carnival rides and more. are excited to introduce the newest member of the Lake County Fair Family and our Fair Ambassador, Mayor Ferris Wheeler. Mayor Wheeler is the newly appointed Mayor of the Lake County Fair. He will be making numerous appearances throughout Lake County over the next few months promoting the Fair, in addition Mayor Wheeler will be on hand as the Lake County Fair visits schools, libraries and local U-Pick Farms providing various agricultural and educational programs for the youth of Lake County. During the Fair, Mayor Wheeler will welcome guests each day with a special opening ceremony, and he will select a “Junior Mayor of the Day.” “We wanted a character/brand ambassador that could educate, entertain and promote the 100 Year Anniversary of the Lake County Fair,” said Stacey Wade, CEO/Fair Manager. “I believe we have a celebrity on our hands,” joked Wade. “He has become a huge hit in Lake County, it’s rewarding to see folks recognize him and hear them say “hey, it’s Mayor Ferris Wheeler from the Fair!” Other entertainment that you can expect at this year’s celebra-
tion will include the Sweeney Family Band; Slim, Skeeter and Jaybird will be Pickin’ and Grinin’ daily. Farmer Billy’s Magic and More Barnyard Revue, Robinsons Racing Pigs, The 3 Ring Super Circus, Fritzy Brothers One Man Circus, The Amazing Bubble Factory, Oscar the Robot and Our Rural Heritage Ag Exhibit. Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Eustis, the Fair will unveil the H.A.Y.L.O.F.T. (Helping All Youth Learn of Farming and Technology) interactive, hands -on agricultural education stations will be located throughout the grounds. Young guests can milk a cow, pick oranges, gather eggs, compete in the pony races (on pony cycles) and even navigate their way through the hay maze on peddle tractors. The Fair will also host a pie eating contest, a cake walk, a
