Faircracker SPRING 2021

Greetings from Zone 2 Vicki Chouris, Director

It is Fair season in our Zone 2 southern region and I am thrilled

to say at the time of writing this newsletter, the Manatee County Fair and the South Florida “Mini” Fair were held successfully in January. Florida has many upcoming February, March and April Fairs and we wish them all GREAT success as well. The IAFE staff is moving forward with extensive on-line educational and networking ses-

sions to keep the industry connected and moving forward. In addition to regular Cyber Seminars (including two free ones February 24 and March 17), “Let’s Talk” sessions will be added in the upcoming months.

The first monthly “happy hour,” Thirsty Thursday Therapy was held January 28. Over 180 people participated in the

session. “Happy Hours” will be held the 4th Thursday of every month so be sure to be a part of the fun and networking opportunities. This is a free perk for all IAFE members. As a result of the communications survey by IAFE members, the IAFE News Brief email sent M-W-F every week has

been positively received. The members surveyed also indicated strong support of the continued publication of the Fairs & Exposmagazine. If you have not done so, please go online to the IAFE website to update your own organization’s data – 2021 Fair

dates, etc. Anyone needing assistance can contact the IAFE office. In closing, I hope each of you have the good fortune of being able to move forward with your Fair. They can be done in

a responsible way and our communities are very thankful for the return to “normal.” I am happy to share any information about the South Florida “Mini” Fair if anyone is interested in learning about the process we went through to make it hap- pen. IAFE and the Florida Federation of Fairs members are always willing to help each other have the best Fairs ever!
