SERVICE PEDESTALS 13

‘Invisible pedestal’

A patented system developed by Seijsener Marina Services, ‘Harbour in’ is a simple concept that involves mounting all connections in the decking of a marina’s pontoons instead of on top, thus creating an ‘invisible pedestal’. Even the distribution cabinets

there was a reduced flow of visitors due to Covid-19, the health crisis had a ‘silver lining’, as it enabled the repair and upgrade of facilities for future customers. Two out of four phases have been

completed and once the project has been finalised, it will benefit from 74 of Rolec’s LED-illuminated Classic service pedestals (a mixture of two- way and four-way styles), all of which are equipped with MID-approved

metering. Opting for this metering system provides visitors and marina managers with a simple-to-use mooring experience. The next two phases are set to start in the Spring. Graham Newman, General Manager

at Braunston Marina, confirmed: “As we know only too well, the quality of Rolec’s products is so good that they can easily provide 25 years of service. We only changed their existing bollards to take advantage of the

many technological improvements since we first started installing them in 1995, when we were amongst the first inland waterways marinas to do so, and the internet hardly existed. “We have donated the old bollards

to small boatyards that work with us where they will doubtless see another 25 years of service!” Rolec Services Ltd rolec@rolecserv.co.UK www.rolecserv.com
