WELCOME
Your latest edition of Hot Tub & Swim Spa Scene is dedicated to the UK Pool & Spa Awards that like so many other events will be completely virtual this year.
Undoubtedly one of the best value marketing badges in our sector, above all, the competition helps sell to new customers who can see how good work has been rewarded.
We look forward to announcing the winners with our new-look, live-stream event as, like you, we learn to adapt our business methods in these challenging times.
Also in this issue, we talk to MySpa, as they open their second showroom, we continue the debate on Chinese vs US manufactured spas and focus on people and products as well as sharing an outstanding case study.
I have spent many hours, over the past few weeks, talking with many industry friends, sharing concerns in these challenging times and likening the situation we find ourselves in, as a non-stop roller coaster ride.
We are looping the loop on an uncertain track guided by unpredictable influences on the world, national and regional stages. Safe working environments, sourcing stock, maintaining cash flow – well, these are just some of the topics on many industry lips.
In my time in the industry, I have worked alongside the sector through at least three recessions. But the current crisis is so much more than an economic downturn.
A whole new vocabulary is emerging with lockdowns, R numbers, bounce back loans.. well you get the idea.
Many showrooms are managing to stay open to customer visits on an appointment- only basis. Others are looking to diversify their marketing offering with e-shots offering everything from new covers, new steps, floating spa bars and in-the-spa games.
More ambitious add-ons include range style outdoor kitchens, pizza ovens, saunas and barbecue huts – working that database has got to be a recipe for success.
To help inspire you, we bring you a wealth of information, opinion and advice from leading industry figures.
Take Care,
CHRISTINA CONNOR | Editor
