Florida Pools and Spas add a modern touch to an historic chateau… J 24


ersey-based, the Florida Pools and Spas team was tasked with refurbishing an existing chateau that had been mothballed for five years.


The task, should they choose to


accept it, was to transform the building into a commercial gym and spa while complementing the chateau’s existing historic features. The new commercial specification steam


room also had to blend with the existing design of the chateau. They had to work in spa and wellness facilities to add to the appeal.


RUNNING COSTS The Florida team were asked to think outside


the box in finding the best solution to deal with the noise associated with an existing over-floor indoor pool. Another criteria was to ensure the leisure facility’s running costs were kept to a minimum. Not only were they put on a technical challenge, they had a limited time window of

eight weeks to complete the transformation. Ensuring the finish was of the highest


standard associated with a facility at the top end of its market, the job entailed creating a swimming pool with a level depth so it was suitable for aqua aerobics classes. To achieve this, the team commissioned a bespoke aluminium frame prior to laying aluminium sheeting finished with glass mosaic tiles. Other added features included adding a


therapeutic water fall and counter current feature as well as an array of underwater aquatic work out equipment. Florida Pools and Spas offered a turnkey


approach to the project, solely in charge of refreshing the swimming pool complex. The client’s trust was well placed and they were extremely happy with the end result.
