‘The Magnificent Wild’ - Stewart Edmondson Solo Show
‘The Magnificent Wild’ is a solo show of new work from Dartmoor based artist Stewart Edmondson which launches at Dart Gallery this October half term. The show will comprise over 30
wonderful new paintings, each inspired by the wild locations on our doorstep. The rugged South Hams coast, the beautiful Dart River and brooding Dartmoor all feature. With a background in Landscape
Architecture, Stewart has a keen interest in ecology which finds expression in his painting. He
immerses himself in the landscape, wandering through the wild places around us and starting paintings on location before later finishing them in his studio. The elements play a role Stewarts work; falling raindrops and scorching flames each leave their mark. Stewart’s paintings respond to the seasons; you’ll find bluebell woods in full bloom and river valleys in rich autumn colours. By capturing the essence of the landscape, Stewart hopes that his work reconnects us will the beauty of the natural world
around us. Whilst current events rule out a
drinks reception you can see all of the work in the gallery from Friday 23rd
October and view and buy ahead of the launch on the gallery website. Stewart will be joining us at the gallery over the weekend too. Don’t miss this chance to hang one of Stewart’s beautiful paintings on your walls. ‘The Magnificent Wild’, a solo
show of new work by Stewart Edmondson, launches on Friday 23rd
October.
