DARTMOUTH FIVER FEST IS BACK FROM 10th
-24th B
ack in February before everyone went into lockdown, over 50 Dartmouth businesses took part in the town’s first ever Fiver Fest, which
was a celebration of our town’s fantastic small businesses who all contribute to Dartmouth’s economy. The idea behind the Fiver Fest scheme is that independent businesses come up with one discounted offer for £5 which encourages local people back into their town centre. In these strange times, it is more vital than ever to keep local money in the town. Organised by Dartmouth
Town Council, February’s Fiver Fest event had a wide range of diverse offers from a full English breakfast to T- Shirts, doggie nail clips and marble heart paperweights all for just £5. Smaller home businesses also got a chance to showcase their wares in the popular community market. The October event will run from 10th
- 24th
October inclusive and it is hoped there will be a community market on all three Saturdays. Commenting on
Dartmouth Town Council’s support for Fiver Fest, Cllr Cathy Campos said “ After a very hard year for our town it is more important than ever for us all to shop locally wherever we can. This Fiver Fest is a great excuse for everyone living here to re discover the diversity, quality and originality of Dartmouth’s town centre. The Council is keen to do whatever it can to help repair the town’s economy so we will coordinate October’s Fiver Fest and supply printed materials

as we did in February”. Local businesses found the February Fiver Fest did boost trade and interest, Rosemary Back of the Leather Shop in Fairfax Place said “Fiver Fest certainly increased footfall and sales during a usually quiet month. In fact we sold out of two offers during that fortnight! It was great to see so many locals coming into our shop and they have been back since. We will certainly be taking part again this October.”
