ministry partners have found that basic tube- wells dug 100 to 120 feet below ground make a huge impact in these communities. Here is one testimony about this outreach in Sri Lanka:
Ira was a Buddhist, and very sick all the time. Since she and her husband had no children, his parents wanted her to return to her family so their son could re-marry someone else. During this time, a pastor traveling on a bicycle dropped his Bible on the road. Someone found it and left the Bible at Ira’s house. A few days later, the pastor came searching for his Bible at Ira’s house. Before departing, the pastor asked if there was anyone sick in the house that he could pray for. Ira’s husband asked the pastor to pray for his constantly sick wife. After the pastor had laid hands on Ira and prayed for her, Ira felt a difference in her body. She started attending church and followed the Lord. Her whole family is now saved and serving the Lord. Ira and her husband have dedicated their property in NamalGama for the work of the ministry in a community where Christians are very persecuted. The water well is located on their property and has allowed them to be a huge blessing to neighbors around them who now have access to clean water.
Please join with WME to reach these post-war, resettlement villages in Sri Lanka with water wells. If you were in their place, imagine how much it would mean to have free access to clean water for your family and how life-changing it would be to see real Christian faith in action.
