MEMBER ZONE BE CAREER CONFIDENT
Chamber of Commerce member Charlotte Sykes, of CWR Consultancy, and Ruth Forster, member of the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber, have collaborated together to launch a free weekly Crowdcast event to support individuals with their careers. As coronavirus sent the world in
to a spin, careers support has become even more important - supporting students feeling lost, assisting those furloughed or facing redundancy was a task Charlotte was keen to step up to. In response to this heightened need for support, Charlotte and Ruth, who have been working together for the past seven years, wanted to do more and help as many people as they could. With only so many hours in the day for personal careers support, the answer was to create easy to access, online workshops.
Charlotte and Ruth’s mission is to make you career confident
Launched in July 2020, the Be
Career Confident series ran weekly on Crowdcast; each session is a 30 minute workshop where individuals can join in or simply observe as Charlotte and Ruth share their experience, advice and knowledge enabling people to take control of their career journey through motivation and action based learning.
SESSIONS INCLUDED: • Motivation while job seeking
• How to find the right job
• CVs – How to get your message across
• Networking – the new way
Charlotte said: “After working together delivering business workshops as well as supporting schools delivering Gatsby Benchmarks, creating a series of online workshops to support redundant workers was a natural sit for us. Ultimately, we want to use our experience to help people become Career Confident.”
