TAKING THE STEP TO SET UP A NEW VENTURE
Set up in 2019 by entrepreneur Bharat Panchal, C4 Secure is focused on securing your business and protecting the critical assets that your company needs to operate. Far from being Bharat’s first venture, C4 Secure is the result of 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, and his sixth successful start-up. Deciding to break away from his
previous business, which had grown to employ over 40 members of staff, and set up C4 Secure was a natural step. Bharat said:“My previous company had gone in the direction of facilities management, and there wasn’t the space in that area to focus on technology. It’s become increasingly prominent that businesses have a duty to ensure they do what’s necessary to protect information. The environment we all live and work in needs to protect our most valuable asset: data.” The key, Bharat believes, is
creating a solution that strikes the
balance between what is convenient and what is secure. The security needs of businesses
have changed enormously since the beginning of his IT career, and indeed his first business, Connect 4. Connect 4 addressed the key network elements of that time – hardware, software, training, and support. Businesses, and fundamentally the behaviours of individuals working for them today, have wildly different needs. A network system now needs to
provide access to applications quickly and fluently; there should not be unnecessary restrictions to access information; irrespective of hardware, information should be available. And all this needs to happen securely, but without having to remember complicated passwords or having to navigate protracted security procedures. Fundamentally, Bharat knows
that individual users want confidence that their employer has taken the right steps to keep them
safe, and a company needs to know that the people accessing private information are who they should be. Security is the key to today’s successful network, whilst making the end-user’s experience as easy as possible. Identifying a clear need in the
market and providing a service that addresses it, isn’t new to Bharat, although is a far cry from his beginnings. Originally trained as a chemist, Bharat was on track to becoming a chief laboratory technician, and started his career analysing toxic waste. Long harbouring the dream of being his own boss before he turned 30, Bharat took the plunge and walked
away from the beginnings of a successful career in order to follow his ambition. Taking a job initially in IT sales, Bharat became fascinated by the technology and started his own company a year early, at 29. With a loyal customer base
quickly growing, C4 Secure is on track to be Bharat’s most successful venture yet. Contemplating his journey, Bharat said: “Being in business is a meandering path, and you have to be ready to evolve from one concept to another. Your business is a vehicle by which you deliver excellence; that should always be the focus.”
