Entrepreneurs and businesses leading the way to recovery
Sheffield, the impacts of the virus are being felt in every household and every business. Many businesses are facing real challenges. The challenges will remain for some time. Many companies are facing some really difficult decisions. It is going to be challenging and turbulent for some time, but we need to get on as we learn to live with the virus. NHS and frontline workers were the heroes of

the pandemic. Our entrepreneurs and our businesses can be the heroes of the recovery. New markets have been created for new
products and new services. New ways of working, thought impossible just a few months ago, have become the norm. Businesses are testing assumptions. They are planning their pivot. They are reviewing business models to take on new challenges. Sheffield Chamber is no different. We too
have been impacted by the pandemic. Our Members needed immediate support. Very quickly we drew together business groups in the city to form the Sheffield Covid-19 Business Response Group. Working with other Chambers in the region, the City Council and Sheffield City Region we have been at the forefront of efforts to protect businesses and to put in place recovery plans. The pandemic has made us think more
deeply about the future of the Chamber. What will our members want in this new world? How can we best connect members used to meeting in person? How can we best represent the business community as politicians think about where to invest to fund the recovery? Amidst all of this, Sheffield Chamber
