Recruitment firm helping clients beat coronavirus

A Cheltenham-based HR and recruitment consultancy is working flat out to help its clients get through the coronavirus crisis. The firm is Brave Human Capital Group Limited,

which manages outsourced human resources for a variety of businesses throughout the Midlands, as well as helping them recruit the right staff. The firm has been at the thick of it during the

coronavirus lockdown, which it says has been an ‘incredible challenge’. James Fleming, managing director, said: “The last

Prepay app creator seeks crowdfunding

A Birmingham-based IT company which has developed a pre- payment app aimed at reducing food and drink queues at venues has launched a crowdfunding scheme. Zapaygo, which recently joined

forces with the NEC and its electronic point of sale (EPOS) partner, Veteda, to pioneer the new app in the UK, is hoping to raise around £250k from the venture. The money will be used to roll

out the app – which has been a huge hit in the US – at other venues in the Midlands. Those investing upwards of £10

in Zapaygo during the crowdfunding initiative will own a small slice of the company. Zapaygo’s John Checkley said:

“A new tranche of funding will be raised and allocated to deploying and operationalising the system within the Midlands area while launching a world leading approach to simplifying promotions, rewards, loyalty and discounting, helping consumers get the most from the offers they have available. “The demand for apps and

online services, like Zapaygo provides, is growing exponentially. “Let’s develop a business

together and contribute towards the prevention of a global economic collapse when the crisis is over. “Businesses investing will receive

Zapaygo order fees credit and an allocation of ZAPS rewards points to distribute to customers as perks.” Zapaygo says the pre-order

market has grown significantly, particularly Stateside at coffee houses such as Starbucks, where half of all orders are placed via mobile phones.

National Memorial Arboretum goes for gold

The National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire has been awarded a prestigious ‘VisitEngland Gold Accolade’, in recognition of the exceptional visitor experience it provides. VisitEngland is England’s tourist

authority, and the award follows a series of accolades for the Staffordshire-based Arboretum in recent years. These include being named

‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year’ by VisitEngland in 2018. The Arboretum was eligible for

the latest award due to the high score it received during a recent visitor attraction quality scheme assessment, which was conducted by an independent assessor. The assessment evaluated all aspects of the visitor experience,

including the 150-acre woodland and garden site’s exhibition programme, guided tours, restaurant, coffee shop and the customer service provided by staff and volunteers. Philippa Rawlinson, managing

director of the National Memorial Arboretum, said: “This latest award is a testament to the incredible efforts of our staff and volunteer team who strive all year round to deliver a first-class visitor experience for everyone. “We are continually investing in

our visitor amenities to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of people who visit us each year have a memorable and meaningful experience that allows them to engage with remembrance.”
