WIHS Temporarily Suspends WIHS Equitation and Championship Qualifying Classes

Washington, D.C. – Following the guidance of USEF, effective March 16, 2020, the Washington Interna- tional Horse Show (WIHS) will sus- pend the sanctioning of WIHS Equitation and Championship qualify- ing classes (WIHS Equitation East and West, WIHS Pony Equitation, WIHS Children's Hunter, WIHS Children's Jumper, WIHS Adult Hunter, and WIHS Adult Jumper), for 30 days. We request any competitions

Jessica Springsteen Clinches Overall Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award


Wellington, FL – Jessica Springsteen was named the Overall Martha Joli- coeur Leading Lady Rider of the 2020 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) that concluded on Sunday, March 15, in Wellington, FL. The Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award, given in memory of fel- low realtor and horsewoman Dale Lawler, was presented weekly during WEF to the high-score female rider based on performances in that week’s WEF Challenge Cup and featured grand prix events. Consistent through- out 10 weeks of competition, Spring- steen claimed the weekly Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady title during week four and, riding Volage du Val Henry, won the $137,000 CSI3* Grand Prix during week six. “I’m honored to receive the

Preparations Continue for 2020 Lake Placid Horse Shows


Lake Placid, NY, March 23, 2020 – Preparations for the 2020 Lake Placid Horse Shows, set to take place June 23 – July 5, are continuing at present. The situation regarding the Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic is being monitored closely by event organizers, who are also following guidelines set by the United Stated Equestrian Federation (USEF).


Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, all “USEF owned events, selection trials,


training camps, clinics, and activities” were suspended for 30 days. USEF has since stated that it “will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide our members and competition organizers with updates every 10-14 days, or sooner if warranted, re- garding any changes to the USEF’s current position as communicated in our March 13, 2020 letter.


That letter of March 13, 2020 stated, “Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, all
