ond Annual TCCA’s Beginner’s Driving Clinic at Ancaster Fair- grounds in a heated arena. Fif- teen participants divided into three groups with each headed by an experienced clinician and sup- plied with two equines. The morning instruction is focused on long lining, harness, hitching to a cart, use of the whip and safety. In the afternoon each participant drives an equine with instruction from the clinician and assistance from the equine’s owner. The equines range in size from a small pony to a 16.1 H Dutch Harness Horse. All participants are required to have an OE or similar liability insurance and a TCCA membership. A TCCA membership is included in the registration fee for Juniors. TCCA members voluntarily sup- ply equines, harness and car- riages for which the club is very appreciative for their part in mak- ing this clinic a big success. Beyond Beginner Clinic on


May 23/24 features clinician John Greenall from West Wind- sor, Vermont is held at the An- caster Fairgrounds. A driver for over 45 years, John has served as President of the ADS and Chair of the ADS Pleasure Driving Committee. He holds an “R” level in 5/6 ADS judging cate- gories and has judged at the major shows throughout North America. With over 40 restored vehicles in his collection, John has extensive knowledge of proper turnout of antique and tra- ditional vehicles and writes regu- larly on the subject in Driving Digest and other publications. He has trained and driven equines from single to four in hand with vast show experience. The Sat- urday clinic takes the form of an educational seminar in a class-

On Sunday, lessons from 45 to 60 minutes duration are offered by John Greenall. Stabling is avail- able at the Ancaster Fairgrounds if desired for Saturday night. For this portion of the clinic partici- pants must have a TCCA mem- bership, OE or similar liability insurance and pay the lesson fee of $150 for private, $100 for semi private or $80 for group.
