rising, at this stage the wax stirring should be stopped. And the wax should be transferred to a wax holding tank. Here at a specified tank temperature, wax is held for certain period of time to allow the impurities and foreign particles to settle at the bottom of the tank. The holding time and temperature is predefined, and it must be strictly maintained. Once the holding of the wax is completed, filtration of

the used wax should be done. Generally, filtration is carried out at different stages and with various filtration media. After filtration, the filtered wax should be checked for ash content. If the ash content of the wax is within the specified limits, the wax should be further processed for refurbishing. If the ash content of the wax is higher than the specified limit, then the wax should be reprocessed by settling and filtration as per the requirement.

Refurbishing of the Recycled Non-Filled Pattern Wax First, the softening point of the recycled wax should be re- corded using ring and ball apparatus. This wax should be used for pattern production and runner and riser production. The required quantity for runner and riser production, is collected in separate wax tank. In this wax, a specific percent of Refined Paraffin Wax is mixed to reduce the R&B Softening point. The softening point of the runner and riser wax should be maintain less by minimum 2ºC than the pattern wax. Remaining quantity of the recycled wax should be

transferred to the separate wax tank. In this wax, addition of 10 to 50 percent of virgin non-filled pattern wax of the same grade should be done as per the requirement. After proper mixing of this blend of the recycled and virgin wax, it should be tested and controlled for various specifications like ash content, R&B softening point, needle penetration and other as per the specifications. After passing all the tests this blend should be used for wax pattern production. Following these steps, non-filled pattern wax can be successfully used for wax pattern production.
