Lawrence Livermore National Labs to help develop more predictable ceramic 3D printing processes.

Facility The PERFECT-3D division is housed in a modern climate-controlled facility, located just a few minutes from I-675 and I-70. All capabilities for making 3D-printed ceramic tooling is contained in the 6,000 sq. facility, including material mixing, 3D-printing, parts cleaning, and high temperature firing. In late 2019, PERFECT-3D began planning for the addition of filter production operation. Construction of the facility and procurement of additional equipment is well underway. This new operation will provide the means to meet growing production demands.

Background The PERFECT-3D team is a set of highly skilled 3D-printing and casting professionals that offers constant customer support to develop 3D-printing solutions that exceed customer expectations. The PERFECT-3D in-house capabilities coupled with knowledge of additive manufacturing and ceramics, along with close industry relationships, has enabled the reduction of long lead times and high tooling cost for development of short run castings. These parts range from aluminum housings to magnesium gearboxes. PERFECT-3D has developed patent

pending designs for new and innovative filtering methods. The filter production methods are tightly controlled and the resulting filter flow rates are very consistent.

Services Include Additive Manufacturing of:

• Ceramic Molds • Ceramic Cores • Ceramic Filters • Wax Injection Dies • Custom Ceramic Components

Moving Forward PERFECT-3D has developed relation- ships with foundries that enables the casting supplier to go from design to ceramic mold ready to pour in a frac- tion of the standard time. This has great- ly reduced the time necessary to obtain small quantities of castings. The staff at PERFECT-3D has developed and in- stalled computerized control systems that maintain an environment necessary for consistent production. All parts are serialized and a detailed pedigree of actual results are entered into our data- base. This database records all captured measurements to ensure each part meets dimensional and quality requirements. PERFECT-3D also provides intern-
