LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BY LINDA WILSON

Greetings DATIA Members, T

o begin this leter, I would like to offer a warm welcome to our first time and veteran registrants who have pre-registered for the 2020 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., from May 27 through May 30, 2020. If you have not yet registered, don’t miss

out! DATIA’s early bird rate is open and you can register now at www.datia.org. May is a beautiful time of the year in the city of Washington, D.C., and we are confident

that our conference atendees will have a pleasant experience both professionally as well as personally when they visit. While the temperatures outside in D.C. will be warm and inviting, the atmosphere within the conference will be comfortable, the networking stimulating, and the programming exciting, engaging, and participatory. Our sessions for the 2020 Annual Conference are far reaching and more inclusive than ever, featuring comprehensive updates regarding the FMCSA Clearinghouse and the latest in new Oral Fluid Guidelines for Federal Workplace. Tis past fall and winter, many DATIA members participated in complimentary

webinars as well as an in-person FMCSA session. We are pleased to share that DATIA, in partnership with our government contacts, will provide our members with another in-person Q&A session with the Department of Transportation’s FMCSA representatives at this year’s Conference. Tis year, DATIA will have a special evening event at Nationals Park that you do not want

to miss! Tis year’s conference will again include over 20 sessions and two days of pre and post conference workshops in one location for all your education and certification needs. We’d like to encourage all members, especially those of you who atend the Annual

Conference on a regular basis, to extend a friendly hand to newer members who may be joining us for the first time. We are encouraged by our growing participation, and we ask that you help us to demonstrate DATIA’s breadth and inclusiveness as a professional organization. Te Annual Conference gives us cause to celebrate the vibrancy of our field and the

energy behind our innovations, and also an opportunity for reflection on the quarter century of promise we bring to the drug and alcohol testing industry. We exist to meet the challenges our time presents to us, and with your help as atendees and members the future is bright. We are grateful to those members who serve tirelessly on the board of directors, on commitees, as speakers, instructors, and as authors who have contributed to DATIA over the last 25 years. WE THANK YOU! Your dedication and support are one of the many reasons DATIA can proudly celebrate 25 years in business, and we are looking forward to serving you for many more! ❚

Looking forward to meeting you all in Washington, D.C. this spring!

Linda Wilson
