We've all heard the cliché that we all have a talent, skill, gift or ability . . . well that's actually true! For some of us there is no interest in capitalizing on any of those things. That's neither wrong nor right, it's just a fact. I understand that some folks learn of the effort to become a particular thing and decide sooner or later that they wouldn't want to have anything to do with that experience, or the effort required to rise to their greatness.

S

ome people want that ultimate guarantee in life . . . wait there's more! Te life you live and lead is not a

commercial. If anything it seems to be the STUFF that many folk tales or legends are made from and my friend that can be very real! Your assignment is in your alignment and nobody else can get that specific combination. Tere are people that may be destined to get to the same mountain or the depths of the same ocean as you, but how they get there is the difference maker. Tese may seem like long shots to you,

but trust me they don’t’ have to be. Tere are various reasons why these simple examples may never help us flourish into what seems like a crescendo of love, fame and happiness. Your gifts will make room for you

through your experience, your honor of the craft, your dedication and your faith in that space. You must appreciate them and nurture them. I have no reason to believe that there will be any exceptions to this understanding. When I sang, I stayed aſter it. Although

I had and still have a very particular taste in music…I sang all the time. I was either nailing a song I liked or I was rearranging a song I liked to be my own. Music is and was one of my original and authentic creative giſts. What I later learned was it was my primary talent, but overall, I wasn’t just a musician. I am an artist! I stopped honoring that primary

giſt and the talent that I developed depreciated greatly. I can knock out a

bar or two and maybe even an entire song depending on what key it’s in. But I’m speaking about the giſt overall. My performance would not be nearly as good as it used to be. Te reason is also clear to me. It’s because of substance abuse and an unwillingness to practice and rehearse.

We are a product of our environment and that very place has shown us things that have been potentially hurtful and devastating to our spirit!

We have been around people that are close influencers and in many cases they don't believe in us or know how to build us.

We've come up in a time that neither promotes nor encourages us to be more, do more or have more.

For some people, everything stops

there. Although some families believe that encouragement is part of the nurturing process, which builds character, confidence and so much more. I would say that when we become of age, we must begin to look at ourselves in a critical manner and take responsibility for who we are and what we inevitably are to become. What determines who we are is one thing and one thing alone

. . . IT’S A CHOICE! Just as all ice cream is ice cream, Baskin Robbins offers 31 flavors. We all have an alignment with God. When I say we all, I am speaking of everyone regardless of race,

creed or color. Your giſts are connected to that foundational practice and belief system. In other words, your giſts have been assigned to you regardless to which path you take. If you think of all of the talented people

in the world, it is simply amazing. Like a rainbow we are black, white, brown, yellow, red, etc. and talents have come from that rainbow in an assortment of ways. We’ve had creators (creations) of all types and extensions of those types in various ways since the beginning of time. We’ve had writers, inventors, artist, musicians, dancers, scientist, doctors, mathematicians and so many more descriptive talents that have designed the world that we’ve come to know and love. For every primary type of learning there

has been someone to create necessities and luxuries that cater to those learning and preferential personality types. Te visual talents have been creators of film, television, and various types of artistry or creativity that’s pleasing to the eye. Te auditory talents have been creators of song and sounds. Te verbal talents and creations have been words, speech including books such as this one. Te kinesthetic creativity leans to exercise, gymnastics, and dance (touch/ movement). In fact I believe that your giſts were assigned to you and for you before you were born. How else can someone be so talented in a sport, creative art or ability without practicing for it? How is it humanly possible to show up on audition day, rehearsal, or show up for tryouts that say, “I was born ready” and with very litle correction or coaching…be considered without ever having formal trained? Te alignment that I refer to is your

“sweet spot”. I’m not trying to offend anyone or tell anyone what to believe and I make no apologies for my statement. Another good thing for many of us is that not only do we have a natural giſt, but also that
