PHARMACY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

FENWICK PHARMACY, KILMARNOCK Te pharmacy premises are a listed building and, as such, extremely small in

size. Aſter much research – and with family investment - the contractor created a consultation room and completely revised work practices, including devising matrixes to ensure that monthly/weekly blister pack would be ordered, assembled and delivered in a full-proof manner. A new delivery service was also established to service the elderly population.

LINDSAY & GILMOUR PHARMACY, SMITHS

PLACE, EDINBURGH Over the last few years, Lindsay & Gilmour has undertaken an exciting new programme of innovation, business and brand development which has already brought significant benefits to both patients and staff. Driven by the company ethos to be the ‘community pharmacy of choice’, the company introduced a ‘Buzz Box’ system, which captured real-time feedback from customers on their experience and analysed the results on a weekly and monthly basis.

RIGHT MEDICINE PHARMACY, WEST LOTHIAN Due to the expanding population, the company decided to move the existing

premises to a larger unit within the same village. Te local community, council, local MPs and entire staff were involved in deciding on what was needed in order to meet the current and future demands of a growing community. Extra consultation space was created, along with a script-automated collection point to allow for 24/7 needs of the local community and an enhanced delivery service was established to ensure the team could reach patients who were unable to get to the pharmacy.

WELL PHARMACY ALLOA Well Pharmacy in Falkirk was co-located inside a small shopping centre with

a Co-op food store. Te existing pharmacy premises were in desperate need of a refit and so the company created a new facility, which allowed the pharmacy team to deliver the best possible patient experience. Te new dispensary is at least three times the size and runs level with the rest of the floor. Tere is now more than sufficient bench space – one for the pharmacist to check and one for the dispensing activities.

WELL PHARMACY, FALKIRK Te existing pharmacy premises at Well Pharmacy in Alloa were substantial, but

not conducive to effective or efficient workflow. A refit was therefore essential. A temporary dispensary had to be built at the front of the unit, allowing dispensing activities to continue whilst the shopfitting team worked at the back to create what would become the final dispensary. Once this was completed, the team moved into their new dispensary as work continued in the retail space to allow the pharmacy to function throughout the refit.
