PHARMACIST OF THE YEAR
EMMA BOYLE, MELVILLE CHEMIST, GLASGOW Emma began working in M&D Green in her third year of university at Strathclyde
and is now a pharmacist manager for the same company. At university - as everyone does - Emma had her moments of doubt as to whether she had chosen the correct path, or if she had the brains for pharmacy. Nevertheless, she qualified with a merit and was awarded the Suresh Madhok Prize. Aſter carrying out her pre-registration with the company of her choice, M&D Green Dispensing Chemist, she dreamed of continuing to work with the company and was delighted when she was offered a pharmacist manager position on completing her pre- registration year.
PAMELA ROBERTSON, WHB SUTHERLAND LTD Pamela has worked for the company for 16 years in different stores, and has been
the manager of the Kirkwall branch for two years. Pamela’s main objective has always been to provide the best possible service to the local community. She does this by going the extra mile for the patients and the staff by working overtime, popping in on days off to sort things out, and keeping staff up to date. Pamela is currently looking into the pharmacist prescribing course so that she can offer extra services for her patients in addition to the ones she already supplies.
RACHEL SMITH, BOOTS SILVERBURN Rachael has been the base pharmacist at Boots Silverburn for over five years now.
In that time, she has built up a reputation amongst colleagues and patients as a dedicated, hardworking, compassionate pharmacist whose level of care is second to none. As a pharmacist, Rachael has applied her knowledge and expertise to great effect during her career. However, it is when she combines her knowledge with her perpetual will to care that the local community really benefits from her work. Whether she’s providing new information to colleagues, or helping the store’s first aiders with the correct training on things like defibrillators, Rachael will always make herself available.
