AVMI chooses Peerless-AV for LED video wall
A new video wall showcases AVMI’s global LED project ca- pabilities supported by by Peer- less-AV.
Peerless-AV and global AV solutions integrator AVMI have partnered to deliver a 8 x 4 direct view LED (dvLED) video wall in AVMI’s Sunbury- on-Thames headquarters and Network Operations Centre (NOC). The LED wall presents the ideal platform to demon- strate AVMI’s project capabil- ities from concept to delivery and is a great example of a seamless LED installation us- ing Samsung IF Series Smart LED Signage and a custom DvLED mounting system from Peerless-AV.

Samsung IF020H 2mm LED cabinets were fitted in- wall in an 8 x 4 configuration supported
by a Peerless-AV
custom-made, floor-to-ceiling mount solution. The mount substructure and components were laid out in a network infra- structure room behind the wall
fine tune adjustment and com- missioning. Tight tolerances and wall plate spacers assured the cabinets were properly po- sitioned. The height and depth adjustment provided by the mount ensured perfect pixel alignment and creation of one flat plane at the front, regard- less of the wall imperfections. Stuart Davidson, Technical Services Director at AVMI com- mented: “It was a textbook installation, managed by an ex- pert team from PSCo and Peer- less-AV. The mount’s ability to correct a not perfectly level slab floor made for a quick and easy install. When the video wall was powered up, everyone in the NOC was gob smacked.” “It’s a great investment for
the Centre and the team there so the reception has been very positive. Also, the quality of

Schindler is undergoing a huge construction development at its new headquarters in Berlin. As part of the major development, the large foyer area required a stand-out piece of display tech- nology that would produce bold and vibrant imagery to attract the attention of all guests and customers entering the build- ing.
The Optoma FHD26528 was selected as the best solution as the large display boasts a 2.6 mm pixel pitch and a Full HD 1080p resolution. The final result was described as “sim- ply amazing”. Measuring 5 m wide and 2.8 m high, the FHD26528 display produced the ‘wow’ factor and now takes centre stage in the new foyer.

The Group has over 1,000 branch offices in more than 100 coun- tries and aspires to keep the ur- ban world moving safely, com- fortably and efficiently, 24/7. in the building, the grand foyer will act as a hub and gathering space for new and existing cus- tomers and guests. Therefore, the foyer required a ‘wow’ fac- tor piece of display technology to impress clients, as well as to compliment the excellent repu- tation upheld by Schindler as a highly innovative and reliable company.
The solution
Ross Noonan, Technical Prod- uct Specialist at Optoma worked closely with Schindler to find the perfect solution for this specialist project. The Op- toma FHD26528 was selected as the best solution as the large display boasts a 2.6 mm pixel pitch and Full HD 1080p res- olution.
Ross Noonan said: “The LED display in the main Foyer is go- ing to be used to present new products
to customers when
they enter. The building is still undergoing huge development works so there were a lot of con- tractors in so we had to work very closely with those electri- cians,
builders and painters. When we arrived, it was key that communication with every- one involved was perfect to en- sure we had enough time and space to finish the project.” The FHD26528 is a Full HD LED display measuring 5 x 2.8 m (226” diagonal). The ultra-thin, 16:9 native aspect ratio LED display is easy to in- stall, operate and maintain. It is designed for ultimate reliabil- ity and superior image quality. The display can be mounted directly onto a suitable wall without
a mounting frame,
making the installation process more convenient. Front access promises installers a fast, low- cost installation process as well as easy maintenance. The FHD26528 display uses indus- try leading HQUltra 4K image processing technology which provides best in class picture quality with low latency video processing. Ross Noonan ex- plained: “The LED display was up and running in three days. Then there is normally a day for calibration. From the beginning of the installation through to finishing, it took a total of four days.”
Results Measuring a jaw dropping 5
m wide and 2.8 m high, the FHD26528 display produced the ‘wow’ factor and now takes centre stage in the foyer. Pau-y Chow commented: “The instal- lation process was a very exciting one for us because it was the first time we saw an LED display of this size being built. We came ev- ery now and then to see how the installation was going. Every time we came, we saw an amazing LED display being built.” Ross Noonan explained: “We have installed a FHD26528 Op- toma LED display. This is a 2.6 mm, 1080p display. We always try to supply first class technical support, so I’ve been working on this project from the beginning up until the final launch event. We have also been on site doing the commissioning, working closely with the Schindler integrators.” “It’s something Optoma really prides itself on. It doesn’t matter which region we’re working in; we always work as close as we can with our end users and custom- ers. With Schindler, we have a very good existing relationship be- cause they also use our projectors in their DoorShow solution – this LED display is just another step- in taking Schindler into the twen- ty-first century.”
Conclusion
Pau-y Chow said: “We chose Op- toma because Optoma has the best products, but we didn’t only choose Optoma for the products, we chose them because of their service and partnership with us. The building is 80% ready, just because we have the LED up and running. I saw it today and I thought ‘WOW’, I’m really excit- ed to show our new re-designed headquarters to our guests and customers."
Pau-y Chow added: “When you look at the LED technology, it’s state of the art. When you come here and see the colours, you get emotions, and these are exactly the emotions we want our guests and customers to feel when they enter into our building.”
Measuring 5 m wide and 2.8 m high, the FHD26528 display now takes centre stage in the new foyer in Schindler’s Berlin HQ. See a video if the installation at:
