ISE 2020 Highlights ISE 2020 – issues and solutions

ISE 2020 promises solutions to some of the paramount issues out- standing in AV. Here, AV News previews the issues and some of the proposed solutions.

KVM Technologies

KVM stands for Keyboard, Video (monitor) and Mouse. Around for years, KVM technology is coming to prominence because of the changing requirements of markets in control, monitoring and anal- ysis where the ability of a single operator to work with multiple PCs is valuable. A KVM switch however, is quite different when com- pared to a conventional data switch. In fact, “the main function of a KVM switch is to control, switch and manage many PCs via a single keyboard, monitor and mouse”.

tvONE debuts “the ultimate KVM” tvONE Hall 1 Booth M110

tvONE will announce Magenta Pathfinder, “the ultimate” KVM solution with zero mouse latency. Magenta Pathfinder provides a scalable, zero latency, KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse & transpar- ent USB 2.0) extension and switching solution for 4K and HD sources capable of more than 3,000 high-quality endpoints using standard IT network switches. Pathfinder Cross-Click and WindowView features deliver excep- tional usability. Cross-Click allows users to view and control up to 16 PC’s at a single workstation with zero lag and no additional hardware by simply gliding the mouse across multiple monitors to the PC screen the user needs to control. WindowView allows users to split a 4K monitor into a quad view to control and view multiple PCs using only a single keyboard and mouse. Combine Cross-Click and WindowView on a single workstation to create a powerful, efficient and clean workflow. Other advanced features include support for multi-head desktops and the ability to create user groups and individually defined rights to manage access to key data, along with best in class security options like no ‘backdoor’ access and USB lock out.

Mark Armon, Product Manager of tvONE, says, “Pathfinder deliv- ers the performance required to support the extreme demands of mission-critical control and collaboration including medical, live broadcast and control room operations, whilst remaining intuitive and simple to set up and use. Its performance is truly exceptional providing exact and artefact-free HD and 4K video which is also flicker and stutter free.

Pathfinder offers plug-and-play setup on standard Cat6 or fibre optic network systems with no configuration of end points. It can extend and mix 4K and HD sources creating a flexible, wide-reach- ing KVM matrixing solution, making Pathfinder ideal for hospitali- ty, education, retail, command centre and other applications. The use of standard network switches not only minimises total cost of ownership, but also enhances security, as it allows customers to benefit from the latest IT security advances and easy access to advanced communication protocols.

tvONE is offering Magenta Pathfinder in two configurations. The Pathfinder 800 series offers DisplayPort 1.2 support at 4K60 at

Multi-system control now available for Matrox KVM Matrox Hall 11 Booth D120

Matrox Graphics Inc. today announces the availability of Aggrega- tor Mode, a cutting-edge, multi-system control feature available with Matrox Extio 3 high-performance IP KVM extenders. Taking Extio 3 IP extension and switching capabilities to a new level, this mode of operation permits an Extio 3 receiver unit to aggregate multiple video streams coming from multiple Extio 3 transmitter units.

Multiple computer desktops can then be viewed and controlled simultaneously from an Extio 3 receiver unit with a single keyboard and mouse. Moving the mouse across a multi-screen desktop of up to four displays shifts control instantly from one computer to the next, providing users with unprecedented operational efficiency. Extio 3’s Aggregator Mode supports computers with multiple video outputs, including independent or stretched desktop mode, while remote user-station setups can be arranged in various con- figurations such as 4 x 1, 3 x 1, 2 x 1 or 2 x 2. Guest connections are also available for collaborative environments, where different users can connect to the same source system simultaneously, with or without USB control.

Seamless deployment extenders, minimizing equipment cost and maintenance. It also does not require any additional software to be installed on the source computer system, ensuring that all system certifications remain intact for a truly simplified KVM installation. “Control room operators are often required to monitor and access information from multiple computers to complete their daily tasks, and Aggregator Mode helps streamline their workflows by provid- ing seamless control of multiple systems,” said Caroline Injoyan, business development manager, Matrox. “This efficiency-boosting functionality eliminates unnecessary distractions so operators can focus completely on the task at hand.”

Aggregator Mode is now available as a free Extio 3 firmware and Matrox Extio Central Manager software upgrade.

calibrate the multichannel echo canceler for each speaker to mi- crophone combination and provide continuous, real-time, in-room impulse response measurements.

Unlike competing products, Nureva audio systems maintain con- sistent performance by automatically and continuously adapting to changes in room configurations or a change in the location of the Nureva system itself. For example, no manual recalibration is required by IT staff or a service technician when furniture or mo- bile walls are moved to accommodate varying meeting scenarios. These patents provide clear evidence that the Microphone Mist technology platform stands apart from traditional technologies like beamforming and omnidirectional microphones. Microphone Mist technology uses sophisticated algorithms to simultaneous- ly process sound from all virtual microphones to provide remote participants with a high-quality listening experience, enabled by continuous autocalibration, simultaneous echo cancellation, posi- tion-based automatic gain control and sound masking.
