The SCR Chambers: Doncaster Our values

We’re a credible Chamber that gets things done with and on behalf of our member businesses and partners across the borough.

Milestone marked by expansion

Leading South Yorkshire recruitment specialists Andy File Associates has marked ten years in business by expanding into new premises. Having started out in 2009 with just £20,000

investment, Managing Director Andy File has grown the company into one of the region’s most successful recruitment consultancies, with three offices in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster and a ten-strong team. To celebrate a decade in business, Andy File

has relocated its Wickersley office into larger premises in the heart of the Rotherham village. The firm specialises in accounts and

commercial, apparel and merchandising, exhibitions and events, facilities management, IT, legal, technical and engineering, sales and marketing. Andy File said: “We are extremely proud to be

celebrating our tenth year in business and coupled with our recent office move this is a great time for the business. “Our team has the resources and experience

to source the best quality talent for businesses. Between them they have over 100 years of experience working within the recruitment sector and some have been with me for the last eight years. “We are very much a team and work hard for our clients and each other.”

Half of the team at Andy File Associates are

now based out of the new Wickersley office, which is located opposite the Tanyard Shopping Centre. Other staff are based across the company’s Sheffield site at Aizlewoods Mill on Nursery Street and Fitzwilliam House in

Doncaster Sheffield Airport voted UK’s best yet again

“For the third year in a row, this low-cost carrier hub takes the best airport crown” - this is the opening line for Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s (DSA) entry in the 2019 ‘Best and Worst UK Airports’ report carried out by Which? Magazine. DSA is celebrating topping the Which? Magazine Best and Worst UK Airports survey for the third time – and its fifth appearance in the top five. The survey measured 6,237 separate airport experiences remarking that ‘a staggering 97% of its passengers would recommend DSA, praising its personable and helpful staff’. Other areas of note were ‘accessible parking (rated favourably by respondents) coupled with short or non-existent security and passport control queues create a stress-free journey.’ Robert Hough, Chairman at DSA, said: “We’re

proud to be judged the UK and the North’s best airport, this is great recognition of the

exceptional customer service offered by every single member of the team. We have always set out to deliver a top- class passenger experience that people can’t get at any other airport. Lengthy queues, disruption and hassle are not what people should experience when at an airport. “We’ve enjoyed a strong

performance this year with more routes announced than any other airport in the UK. Looking towards 2020 we will be focusing our efforts in delivering the next stage of our Masterplan, which has already received overwhelming support, from our local contribution, to the national level impact we can make with via a simple rail connection into the East Coast Mainline.”

The poll cemented DSA

as Yorkshire’s favourite airport, scoring 86% overall. DSA received five-star

ratings for queues at security and passport control and a

four-star rating for staff, seating and loos. The Which? Award

comes on the back of another great

year with passenger numbers predicted to grow to 1.45 million in 2019/20, with more new destinations for any UK airport since August 2018, including two new long-haul destinations – Sanford, Florida and Cancun, Mexico.

Doncaster. Some staff are also based remotely in Leeds, Lincoln and Wetherby. Andy takes great pride in his role within the

region and, to give back to the local community, has been a regular sponsor of Dronfield Rugby Club.
