Lake Michigan is the third largest Great Lake by surface area and the sixth largest freshwater lake in the world. It has a surface area of 22,404 square miles and is the second-largest of the Great Lakes by volume at 1,180 cubic miles. The lake’s average depth is 279 feet, and its greatest depth is 923 feet.


Odessa Gunn of Forestville, California, is a former pro bike racer. Born and raised on a salty rock in the north Atlantic called Cape Breton Island which is in Nova Scotia Canada, she came to the US on an athlete’s visa to race her road bike and made it to the World Cup circuit where she raced for two years professionally.
