where they undertake a series of talks, competitions, practical sessions and social events throughout the each. The season runs from September to April, with the summer months used to explore the best of South Yorkshire through a viewfinder.
Every month is focused around a theme from the tangible, such as materials or items, to the more abstract such as focus or tranquillity. They also host a monthly competition which members are encouraged to take part in, again themed each month around areas of photography such as portrait, action or nature.
They are always happy to welcome new members from the keen hobby photographer to those more accustomed with modern equipment. As a society, they have embraced and adapted towards digital photography in recent years and all members share skills and ideas together for how to capture the perfect shot.
