AFTER what seemed like weeks and weeks of non-stop rain, the sun finally shines on Halesworth in Bloom volunteers! A successful morning's
work saw the planting of a new tree, the very beautiful
Cercis canadensis "Red Force", at the town park entrance. This stunning tree has huge heart-shaped red leaves in the autumn and late-winter/early spring pink blossom... look out for it next time you're passing.
By the time you read this
the Annual Halesworth in Bloom Awards at the Cut will have presented Lesley Pyke's engraved glass trophies to the Best Front Garden, Best Children's project, Best Business Frontage and
Best Newcomer and Best Allotment. Congratulations to all concerned for all the hard work!
As the gardening year winds down Halesworth in Bloom will be holding its AGM at the library on 15 November at 4pm, all welcome. Our plans for autumn and winter include revamping the Thoroughfare planters, creating a mini wildflower meadow in the town park,

HALESWORTH Area
Community Transport wants to say a BIG thank you to the Halesworth Lions for their generous donation of £2000 towards the cost of repairing the Hoppa bus. We also want to say thank you to Halesworth
Town
Council for giving us a grant of £2000. We now have enough money to have the Hoppa repaired and it is on its way to Rochdale to have this carried out. HACT are grateful to Bob
and Jon our drivers for giving up their valuable time to drive the Hoppa to and from Rochdale. The bus was damaged in a way that it could not be repaired locally due to the design of the vehicle. Therefore these repairs will be carried out by the specialists who built the bus originally. To our surprise and delight we have had a very generous donation from one of our
adding still more spring bulbs to brighten the town's verges in March/April. If you'd like to get involved why not come along to our monthly work party in the Church Memorial Garden at 2.30 pm on the last Friday in the month. Or find more information/contacts on our website, www.
