ON September 15th the local Branch of the RAF Association, held their Annual "Battle of Britain" commemoration. at
St.Benet's Minster, Beccles. The Reviewing Officer this year was Air Marshal Sir Roger Austin KCB AFC RAF who also gave the address at the Service. RAFA Branch President Brian Vousden Commented, "This battle, the crux of which was September 15th 1940, lasted from July 10th, 1940 to October 31st, 1940 and stands with Waterloo and Trafalgar as a turning point in our Nations History. Outnumbered 3 to 1, a total of 2,937 British Commonwealth and Allied pilots took part of which 510 lost their lives and hundreds more were badly
burnt and maimed. On the ground, many personnel in the RAF and other Services suffered death and injury as did those of the Civilian population. On this Special Day, we show our Respect and Humility and give thanks for the Sacrifice, Courage and Determination of those young Men and Women who did their Duty. Those who survived the Battle are getting much fewer in number now and we are all aware of the need of our younger generations to understand the significance of this momentous Battle. For those no longer with us, "We Will Remember Them".

performers, many of which have
previously
appeared
on the Film Theatre stage and whose previous sell-out successes have included shows at Leiston Film Theatre and at the Spa Pavilion Theatre in Felixstowe. The group have ambitious
under Wayne's 'Team
B Productions' title - a group of experienced am-dram
plans to develop further and are promising another fun- filled family pantomime, packed to the panto brim with lots of slapstick family fun, toe-tapping tunes and a huge helping of audience participation, as they tell the beloved tale of Goldilocks – a story that unfolds in the Pantoland village of Hump-on- the-Hill and sees Goldilocks venturing into the woods, where she encounters Mummy, Daddy and Baby Bear when she stumbles across their woodland
home. When the wicked Ringmaster plots to
capture the furry family and make them the stars of his Circus, it's up to Goldilocks, Silly Billy and even Dame Trump to come to the rescue. Film Theatre manager and Pantomime director, Wayne Burns, is looking forward to returning
to the stage. “We
are immensely proud of this Pantomime and the entire cast can’t wait to bring our brilliant script to life on stage and perform for such appreciative crowds. Our audiences are in for a real treat, plus one or two surprises along the way”, he said.
The Pantomime sees
renowned Suffolk musician Tom Horton returning as the musical director and the energetic students from the Coral Stebbings School of Theatre Dance will be making a welcome return to the stage, as part of the Pantomime extravaganza. Goldilocks and the Three
