ALL THE LATEST NEWS, VIEWS AND STORIES FROM AROUND YOUR LOCAL AREA:SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

Better Hearing Clinic News! I’m one lucky fella!

From the first person I helped to hear better in January 2008 until now, I get the same sense of doing what I was meant to do. Te smiles, tears and laughs we have shared when benefit is achieved is overwhelming.

Being able to help people with care and attention, has been possible, since I took the big step of leaving a high street hearing aid chain in 2016.

I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be working with a most caring team at St. Helen’s Dental Practice, Market Place, where I have been supported with a clinic room in Cockermouth since October last year.

From the first visit up here, our family has fallen in love with Cockermouth, so much so, we have now relocated from Bolton.

Exciting times ahead!

Having come from a retail background, the natural progression to a standalone clinic, was probably inevitable. Plans are well underway for a shop-fronted Better Hearing Clinic. Mr. George Chambers, from Chambers Joinery, Workington and his team are waiting to get into the shop to fit it out. Pod Signs and Graphics are waiting to get the shop signs up. All that’s needed is to complete the lease and planning permission for change of use, which is pending.

Te new clinic rooms will be well-equipped, clinical and yet comfortably friendly. A soundproof testing booth is coming and the latest audiometer, which includes a brand- new testing regime to help people with tinnitus. We will have a dedicated ear wax removal room with a video monitor for a before and aſter look.

Te shop will have the basics and more!

Batteries, tubes and filters for hearing aids will be available to buy, with a selection of ear protection products for flying, swimming and noise, including digital shooting ear defenders. A hearing aid cleaning and repair service will be available too.

We are really pleased with the ongoing support of the community. All the referrals from existing customers has been appreciated. We support the Starkey Hearing Foundation Charity and will collect old hearing aids on their behalf.

Better Hearing are looking forward to many happy years contributing to the welfare of the community in which we live. I’m one lucky fella to have found you, Cockermouth!
