AN ARTIST’S LOVE FOR ANIMALS IN

OIL AND PASTEL Nicky Litchfield is a British artist, based in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire.

Nicky Litchfield Meet The Artist

Saturday 12th October, 11.00am-3.00pm

Nicky is well-known for her beautiful animal paintings. When you see one of Nicky’s paintings, you can feel the affection that she has for her animal subjects. Her style is to let the character and essence of the animal shine through. She predominately uses oil and pastel.

Nicky is a true animal lover. Her love for animals began when she would spend weekends and summers at

her

grandparents’ farm. She loves to paint dogs, horses, cows and other livestock. Now, Nicky paints from her studio in the picturesque village of Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley and can often be found out and about sketching with her companion, Max the dog, by her side.

British wildlife such as hares and foxes are at the heart of her paintings, which she creates mainly in pastel. With a playful

use of line and colour she produces delightful, contemporary artworks full of character and charm.

Since winning the Society for All Artists Artist of the Year in the Animal Category in 2008 Nicky has gained many collectors and her limited-edition prints add warmth and glowing affection wherever they are displayed.

Gallery owner Libbie Barton said: “We are excited to host one of Nicky’s first events as a published artist. Our collectors have a fond affection for her unique and contemporary style with many owning more than one of her charming limited editions.

“We are delighted to be showcasing some of Nicky’s original work, as well as three brand new limited editions. Visitors to the gallery will also have the unique opportunity to watch Nicky at work, as she sketches live in the gallery.”
