DIGITAL GROWTH
Digital Growth Programme helps regional businesses to grow
The Chamber has been a proud delivery partner of the Digital Growth Programme which, over the past year, has helped more than 2,400 businesses across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire to enhance their digital capabilities. The Programme, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and delivered in partnership with local authorities, has provided expert advice, support and funding to boost digital skills and help firms invest in new technology. Here are the stories of two Chamber members which have benefited from its support.
R.E.A.L Education has forged an excellent reputation for re-engaging children
A BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH REAL BENEFITS R.E.A.L Education is a specialist provider of education solutions for children and young people across the East Midlands who are ‘lost to learning’ or ‘hard to place’ within mainstream schooling. It has forged an excellent reputation for re-engaging children and
young people in learning. By taking a precise and holistic approach to each individual learner’s needs, it builds a bespoke programme around each child in its care, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to affect change and enable them to reach their full potential. It has undergone rapid growth and needed scalable technology in
place to ensure all of its business management policies and procedures, from staff admin and HR to documentation and the storing of personal data, were not only futureproof but also secure and GDPR-compliant. It was provided £40,000 of grant funding towards an investment in
a Cloud-based system which accommodates all of the organisation’s business-critical systems and processes. Staff can log into the system via an online portal, to access and share
day-to-day information and report issues in real-time. The system is fundamental to the way R.E.A.L Education does business, enabling it to achieve operational efficiencies and increase its capacity for growth. Richard Smith, Co-founder and Operations Director, said: “It’s our
mission to create opportunities for young people across the East Midlands and help them reach their full potential. Our new system is key to enabling us to make this happen. It means we can continue to grow and introduce innovative new learning programmes to engage young people and equip them with vital core life skills.”

Eight Days a Week Print Solutions has increased its production capacity by 25%
ENHANCING THE OFFERING FOR EIGHT DAYS A WEEK PRINT SOLUTIONS Eight Days a Week Print Solutions is a marketing services provider specialising in personalised print and direct mail. It supports clients by delivering data solutions, postal optimisation,
response handling, market insight and competitor research to provide an end-to-end single source bespoke communications service. As a traditional commercial print house, it was looking to diversify
into market sectors other than pharmaceutical, where the majority of its work came from. It needed a fresh USP and was looking to reposition itself as a marketing and communications solutions provider to differentiate itself from its competitors. It was provided grant funding of £2,500 towards the purchase of
new data hygiene and postal sortation software, enabling it to provide SMEs with access to cost-effective, personalised direct mail campaigns. Marketing staff also attended a series of workshops to enhance their skills and better promote the company’s new range of services online. The software has enabled the company to move into new market
sectors including garden centres and retail, gaining 20 new customers as a result. It has also increased its production capacity by 25%, taking on two new members of staff to service that growth. Graham Thomas, Sales and Marketing Manager, said: “The software
we have invested in is now a fundamental part of the business. We can now offer multi-channel, personalised marketing campaigns and have many regular and happy customers using the bespoke and targeted solutions we provide.”
