Helen makes the step up to Director at Grant Thornton


Business and finance adviser Grant Thornton in Leicester has promoted restructuring specialist Helen Wheeler-Jones to Director in its Midlands advisory team. Helen joined Grant Thornton in


2015 and focuses on supporting and building Grant Thornton’s restructuring advisory and lender offering across the East Midlands. She has played a leading role on


many of the firm’s complex and investigatory assignments including All Leisure Holidays and HPI Racing. Eddie Williams, Partner and Head


of Grant Thornton’s restructuring team in the Midlands, said: “Helen’s promotion is recognition of her hard work since joining Grant Thornton. She is a leading member of our 30- strong Midlands advisory team which has grown significantly in the past four years. “Helen is recognised as a trusted

Mazars expands regional tax team


Mazars, the international accounting and advisory firm, has announced the recruitment of four additional tax managers to expand its services to a growing client base through its East Midlands offices in Nottingham and Leicester. These core recruits will


enable Mazars to deepen the pool of expertise and widen the service offer to the market place. The new hires are Claire Cowen, International Tax Senior Manager; Dinesh Pancholi, Employment Tax Senior Manager; Lois Tack, Corporate Tax Manager and George Guilherme-Fryer, Corporate Tax Assistant Manager. HSM Engineering makes investment in staff


HSM Engineering is responding to today’s challenging times with further investment in employee training and development to create a dynamic and multi-skilled workforce, from school leavers to mature apprenticeship schemes. At the beginning of 2019 HSM Engineering welcomed a new engineering apprentice, who joins two existing youth apprentices. Alongside this, HSM is investing in four mature apprentice schemes for key employees, while continuing to support its two degree-level employees with their studies. Jason Thorpe, HSM Engineering’s Managing Director, said: “These challenging times require a workforce that is motivated and multi-skilled. It’s great to have a team who are hungry to learn and make a change to the business.” HSM Engineering has initiated a


programme of upskilling four of its key staff members with business improvement techniques utilising the Apprentice Levy. Barry Moss, an award-winning Chartered Engineer of Six Sigma, was sourced for HSM Engineering via its affiliated partner
