representatives and experts from around the world.Wieden, an expert in synthetic biology, was summoned to discuss measures to enhance biosafety and biosecurity in the African nations.No other Canadian university was represented at the event. They are just two examples who


epitomize the talentwe have in our university and in our city. And aswe open the most advanced science education and research facility in the country this fall, there is no denying that theUof L is a major research hub that is only gaining further momentum. We can confidently say the same


thing about Lethbridge. This is a city that’s about to break the 100,000- population threshold, that boasts a thriving university and college, that in the past 10 years has added major art (Casa), recreation (YMCA, curling club, twin arena) and lifestyle (Legacy Park) amenities, and that’s attracted massive industrial investment fromglobal companies. The world is seeking solutions and


we have and continue to create the intellectual capacity to provide those answers. We’ve grown up Lethbridge, and it’s time to let the world know.
