Ostrander said AgriVision plans to keep employees from both locations on board throughout this transition. “It may be a year before we can move back in, but we plan to keep everyone employed,” stressed Ostrander. A tem- porary office for Hamburg has been set up in a customer’s shop and they are in the process of renting addi- tional space to move administrative employees from the Pacific Junction store. Technicians from both locations have also been redistributed, with shop space located for half of them and the rest operating out of mobile service trucks.

AgriVision is also testing a new parts distribution system for its Pacific Junction and Hamburg customers. “We are running two parts routes (one in Nebraska, one in Iowa) three times a day with 12 different stops,” explained Ostrander. “This flood has given us the opportunity to test oper- ating out of a larger parts center.”

Throughout the process, Ostrand- er utilized social media, email and AgriVision’s website to keep custom- ers informed of temporary facilities, parts distribution, the status of each location and more. “It’s so important

to keep not only our employees, but our customers informed,” said Ostrander. “Social media was a key part of our communication strategy.”
