Dartmouth Museum is far from the usual per- ception that museums are dusty and boring – very far from it! We are a small yet
unique museum offer- ing something for all the family.
You could start in the
King’s Room where King Charles II took shelter from a storm in the estuary in 1671. Here you can see a fine display of ship mod- els showcasing Dart- mouth’s rich maritime history.

Dartmouth Boat Hire is located on the town’s riverside embankment, where it operates a fleet of boats for up to eight passengers. With a wide variety of boats from which to choose, including cabin cruisers, open boats and open launch, there is a craft for everyone, how- ever you wish to enjoy your time on the water. No licence is necessary although the hirer is required to show competence and confidence in boat handling and relevant boating experience. Boats can be taken out for periods from one to six hours, or longer by arrangement.
Boating time is family time…
Included within the price is engine fuel; life jackets for all (including infants); safety equip- ment and an information pack complete with chart.
Before departure a full briefing is given with detailed instructions about the boat; its engine; and use of the river – all intended to make your trip more enjoyable.
Just visit the Kiosk on the North Embankment to start your very own adventure on the river; call 07843 242619 or 07597 652571 or visit dart
