16 boots, Get closer to nature
To be able to really appreciate the coastline of south Devon is to really appreciate what a sea kayak can do. It can take you many miles, it
can get you closer to nature, it can keep you secure, it can provide you with space for all your necessities, it keeps you fit and healthy and it can set you free from the daily grind. I’ve personally paddled the south
Devon coast for 20 years now and still every paddle offers something new to experience.
I’m consistently surprised by the relationship between land and water and consistently refreshed by the way it changes the mood of people who experience it.
I suppose the true beauty of sea
kayaking is that it is available to everyone; some basic training will get you out in this environment with a guide, so that you also can witness the wonders of this form of travel in the great outdoors. With exceptional designs and sta-
bility offered by the modern single and tandem kayaks, more and more people are getting on the water these days.
I see my role as a sea kayak guide and coach to be able to boost people’s confidence and awareness
of the elements we face as sea paddlers and promote the fun and adventure within the boundaries of safety.
If it’s camping out under the
stars, surfing, wildlife spotting, rock hopping, collecting litter and plas- tics from our shorelines or just wanting to explore around the next headland, then you owe it to your- self to give it a go; trust me it’s worth every moment. Sea Kayak Salcombe operates out of the old lifeboat house at South Sands in Salcombe and offers coach- ing, half day and full day kayak adventures to all abilities and ages. We also provide all of the equip- ment for you. Pop down for a chat or give us a call. See advertisement on back cover.
