What can we do today? Rain or shine, you won’t be short of ideas for fun things to do
Come along for some art therapy
Come and wash the dust off in our creative haven, The Art Cafe. We are a family-run business and have been trading for four years; we are very child friendly.
Why not come and paint cer- amics or have a go at decoupage? It’s not just something to do – it’s therapy! We want to share with you our tips and techniques for creating something amazing. While here why not have one of our top-notch hot or cold drinks with a slice of homemade cake? Or if you are hungrier, we also serve baguettes and paninis. The turnaround time for firing
ceramics is two to five days. Don’t worry about enough time to take your artwork home as we can post ceramics if you’re on holiday. We are open Monday to Satur- day, 10am until 5pm, but booking is advisable, especially on wet days and during the school holidays as we do get very busy. Call us on 01548 852802. And for those
of you who
say you can’t paint, here’s some advice from Vincent Van Gogh: “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint’, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”
A round of golf with a glorious view
The South Hams and surrounding area is home to some of the most stunning golf club views in the country. Stover Golf Club, with its fabulous position on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, should be a must for any golfing visitor to South Devon this summer.
The peace and tranquility of Stover Golf Club, nestling close to the wild open beauty of Dart- moor National Park, is a convenient treat for golfers in the South West, with its easy access from the A38 and M5.
The course is one of the best parkland courses Have an adventure by canoe
Singing Paddles runs guided canoe sessions of two hours, half-a-day and whole-day duration, taking tours on the beautiful local estuar- ies in search of local wildlife and local history.
Exploring along the way, the group can test itself with challen- ges, play some games and, natural- ly, learn some paddle skills. We use safe, stable and social
canoes that allow everyone, from beginner to expert, to have the per- fect relaxed, paddling adventure. Sometimes we take wood-burn-
ing stoves and find a deserted beach to take tea and cake, or even have a barbecue while we watch the world go by. Paddle trips are perfect for fam-
ilies, groups and couples on holi- day, or just as a relaxing day pad- dling in the sunshine, appreciating
our great and beautiful outdoors. We are proud to offer canoeing
to everyone and take ages ranging from two years to 90 years, provid- ing size-appropriate equipment. Singing Paddles has evolved from more than 30 years of canoe- ing and coaching all over the world, and we bring this experi- ence to all our tours. It is a car- bon-neutral company, funding local
tree planting and
reinstating, and using a grey water system to wash our equipment. Don’t take our word for it – take a look at the hundreds of reviews in the guest book on our website. Happy paddling! Please

in the South West, featuring a wide variety of holes, elevation change, mature trees, streams and picturesque ponds. Its 18-hole, 5,959-yard course off the back tees consists of two loops of nine holes, which come back to the clubhouse. The course design was influenced by five- times British Open Champion James Braid and provides easy walking, narrow tree-lined fair- ways and subtly contoured greens that present a fair but challenging test of golf for all enthusi- asts.
