JULY 14TH 2019 Championed by

The Canterbury Bike Ride is set to return on Sunday 14 July. The sportive event is again championed by Redrow Homes, and supported by local businesses including Lenleys, Barretts Jaguar and Clague Architects and Kent College who are encouraging their staff, pupils and parents to take part in the ride. Three expertly-designed routes will showcase the scenic countryside around the city and across the Kent Downs, and with around 500 riders taking to the roads in previous years, 2019 promises to be its biggest year yet.

Participants will be able to enjoy some great locally-sourced food and drink on the routes and back at the event village, which is hosted by

.

The event will also continue to support local charities including Canterbury Hellfi re wheelchair rugby team.

Entrants will have the choice of three routes - a rolling 25-mile loop aimed at newer cyclists and families, an 80-mile epic, or a 50-mile route which trims some of the distance but keeps plenty of interest.

Tim Wolfe-Murray of Clague Architects helped design Kent’s Cyclopark, and says

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Canterbury Bike Ride. We’re keen to be involved and Kent is a great place to cycle.”

Entry is £30 per ride for the 80 and 50-mile rides or £25 for the 25-mile ride. Discounted entry is available for under 16s and charity riders.

cricketer Ben Trott has joined the Iconic team organising the ride and encourages individuals, family groups and organisations to sign up. “Cycling is a fantastic way to get out and about, to get some fresh air, meet like-minded people and to see the beautiful Kent countryside. It’s great for your health and provides an opportunity to raising valuable funds for local charities.”
