85th (The King’s Light Infantry) Regiment Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate c1830-1855. The rectangular burnished gilt back plate with various silver mounts comprising, laurel and palm sprays, a crowned oval strap, ‘Aucto Splendore Resurgo’,within the strap on a domed gilt ground and in silver a scroll, ‘The King’s Light Infy.’ over a strung bugle horn, within the strings the engine-turned numerals ‘85’. On the junction of the leaf sprays a scroll ‘Nive’’ at the bottom a tri-part scroll ‘Fuentes D’Onor Peninsula Bladensburg’, standard hook and stud fasteners, the scroll above the bugle horn and the ‘Nive’ scroll with considerable wear, the back plate professionally regilded at some time, otherwise good condition

87th Prince of Wales’s Own Irish Fusiliers Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate, Honour Slide and Tip c1845-1855. A truly magnificent trio of items still with a section of the white leather belt. The rectangular belt plate in ‘dead’ gilt with a burnished gilt edge mounted with a large gilt fused grenade, the flames in ‘dead’ gilt the ball being burnished, this is mounted with a large depiction of the captured French eagle of the 8me regiment of the ligne. The gilt slide bearing laurel sprays embellished with ten battle honours. The gilt tip of rococo outline. Standard hook and stud fasteners, excellent condition
