The East Yorkshire Regiment Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1881-1901, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black enamel an eight pointed gilt star enclosing a silver rose, this also on a ground of black enamel, silver title scroll below ‘The East Yorkshire Regt.’, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband, part silk lining only, supplied by ‘Cater & Co., London’, the gilt rubbed on the frontal plate and on the chin chain, minute moth damage, a section of the leather trim missing on the back peak and some accretions on the cloth bracing band otherwise good condition £300-£400
