DISCREET HAVEN
One of London’s most exclusive private members spa club, The Lanesborough Club & Spa is an exquisite space offering discerning members and hotel guests a discreet haven away from the hubbub of London. The spa offers rooms of grandeur and grace in equal measure. Barr and Wray worked together with the interior designers to not just meet but exceed the client’s expectations delivering individual character and bespoke finished throughout.
The vitality pool took time and attention-to-detail in creating a simple but elegant infinity edge and lighting detail around the pool edge and trough.
The female sauna and steam room stands out from the crowd with the bespoke glazed fronts using bronze decorative glass with stippled and gilded effect. The female steam room consists of a semi-circular domed room with stunning 15mm Bisazza mosaics. The male suite bio sauna with dark wood offers tiered bench seating alongside the option to recline on the bespoke loungers at either side of the benches. The male Finnish sauna has a decorative
led lighting elements on the feature wall, offering guests a focal point within the room.
The male steam room is in a dark cave-like room, atmospheric and offers more private seating for guests to relax. To date, the Spa has won a number of awards including World’s Best New Hotel Spa, World Spa Awards 2017 & Best Spa Concept 2018, Gala Spa Awards. Add to that its recent Gold Standard in the UK Pool & Spa Awards.
The project brief was to create an elegantly British ‘luxury club for life’ comprising truly unique spa facilities with distinction and sophisticated decor. Considering the thermal suites will be split into male and female zones, offering a masculine space for males against a softer, more feminine space for the female suite.
