Seating includes two antique chairs from Traci’s grandmother, Jewell Boyd, which are covered in a French grain sack fabric, mingling with chairs slipcovered in linen. A painted and distressed buffet is


flanked by shutters and features antique re- production lamps from Park Hill Home, which replicate architectural details. A col- lection of ironstone platters is displayed on a wall nearby, along with a sign made by Traci’s sister, Shelly Tucker, featuring the verse Acts 2:46,“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sin- cere hearts.” Besides ironstone, antique and vintage


finds like tobacco baskets, picnic baskets and an ice cream churn continue the farm- house look. Portions of walls in the living room, laundry room and master bedroom are covered in shiplap. Although the home is orderly and har-


monious, Traci indicates nothing is too pre- cious. The couple’s 2-year-old granddaugh- ter eats snacks and colors in the living room. “We live here,” Traci says. “Every single chair is used. Every pillow is used.”


Meant to last Steve and Traci met at church when they


were just teenagers. Shortly before their marriage, Steve be-


gan framing houses with Traci’s father, Doug Boyd, a framer and custom builder. One day, he abruptly laid off Steve, telling him building houses was hard work and to go get his real estate license. Steve went above and beyond, obtaining his broker’s li- cense, and the couple built and sold their first spec house. The couple continued to build and sell houses through the years.
