The Grand Event Center features more than 20,000-square feet of cus- tomizable event space, including a large ballroom with six breakout rooms and seating for up to 800, along with pre-function space for business meet- ings, professional conferences, corporate retreats and weddings. The Event Center also is home to a 1,500-seat concert venue with a built-in perform- ance stage for an ongoing lineup of headline entertainment. A phase II expansion of the center is underway that will double its event space with an expected completion date in late 2019 or early 2020.


The Loews Annapolis Hotel was sold in July 2018 to the owners of Graduate Hotels. The property is now called the Hotel Annapolis and is scheduled to begin renovations in June 2019. By September 2019, it will officially be called Graduate Annapolis Hotel and will remain open through- out the renovation process.


The Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis Downtown opened in May 2018. Formerly the O’Callaghan Hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn is home to Kitchen on West Street, which serves comfort food with a creative twist, indoor and outdoor seating, a full breakfast menu and casual dinner options.


Food&Drink


The Blackwall Barn and Lodge opened just outside of Annapolis in Gambrills in October of 2018. The restau- rant serves lunch, dinner and late-night meals and offers live music on Friday evenings. In addition to a dining room and bar (referred to as the "Lodge") that can accommodate 120 people, the banquet room (known as the "Barn") seats 180 people. Joining the Barn and Lodge is a covered patio with a fireplace that accommo- dates approximately 45 people. Other private event nooks include: Cabanas on the patio; Cottage; and Game Room. The restaurant is committed to maximizing local sourcing wherever possible.


In June 2018, Flamant Restaurant in West Annapolis completed an addition that accommodates an additional 30 seats - bringing the total number of inside seats to 65. The airy new room includes a skylight-laden cathe- dral ceiling, hardwood floors, a fireplace and plenty of natural light.


Annapolis Market House is a 160-year-old downtown Annapolis institution near City Dock which re-opened with a new look in July 2018. The 96-seat modern mar- ket serves as a community center complete with a gro- cery store and restaurants. Patrons can visit Market House’s corner grocery to purchase all the ingredients they’ll need to create locally sourced meals. If they pre- fer, they can order from the counter and dine at commu- nal and high-top tables or sit at the window counter fac- ing Ego Alley.


In August 2018, the iconic eatery Galway Bay Irish Restaurant and Pub finished remodeling its 20-year-old restaurant. Extensively refurbished, a bar has been added to the dining area. Now, patrons have the option of rally- ing around the bar in Galway Bay’s traditional pub or gathering with friends at the dining room bar. Galway Bay has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and as a runner-up for “Best Irish Pub Global."


Great Frogs Winery opened a new Tadpole Barn complete with a new tasting room in March 2018. All tastings take place in the new Tadpole Barn. Great Frogs’ signature Tobacco Barn now features a club room and a Music Bar, featuring live music every Saturday afternoon.

Crooked Crab Brewing Company opened in February 2018 and is housed in a 6,100-square foot warehouse just outside of Annapolis in Odenton. Three Maryland natives and longtime friends are making and serving beer in their 2,200-square-foot tap room.
