Update: During its expansion, the convention center will remain open. The expansion will add more than 50,000-square feet of meeting room and pre-function space as well as more than 40,000-square feet of back-of-house space. The expansion also will create an over-street pedestrian walkway to The Westin Charlotte, two new hotels that are part of the Crescent Communities mixed-use development, and the LYNX Blue Line light rail Stonewall Station, which provides access to dining, retail and nightlife.


Features: The Charlotte Convention Center boasts 280,000- square feet of contiguous exhibit hall space, 37 meeting rooms and two ballrooms, promotes/supports Green Meeting Initiatives, features an in-house food and beverage, and is con- nected via an enclosed over-street walkway to the NASCAR Hall of Fame (ideal for opening reception and other events). Hotels in the Convention District are diverse, and North Carolina is a right-to-work state.

Surrounded by restaurants, shopping and more, it offers a host of amenities in and around the facility as well as a wel- coming staff that works with the client throughout the entire event process

Update: The 125-room Aloft Coastline Hotel broke ground in January. Slated to open in mid-2020. A new Embassy Suites Wilmington Riverfront Hotel is adjacent to the convention center.


Features: The Silver LEED certified Wilmington Convention Center is made up of a 30,000-square foot Exhibit Hall, 6,000-square feet of additional meeting space, a 12,000-square foot Grand Ballroom, outdoor space on the Event Lawn, plus more than 15,000-square feet of pre-function space. The center is the anchor of Wilmington’s Convention District. Nearby hotels totaling almost 900 rooms and suites (with more on the way) are accessible to the convention center via the Riverwalk along the Cape Fear River.
