Music
Candidates applying for a Music Scholarship (Instrumental or Vocal Award) should show a very high ability and genuine enthusiasm for the subject, which is demonstrated in and outside the classroom.
Music scholars will be expected to take a minimum of one hour instrumental/vocal lessons per week. They will have the opportunity of belonging to a musical group, leading a musical ensemble and attending extra-curricular events such as concerts and recitals. Music scholars will be expected to play a leading role in all opportunities for performance including recital events, music meetings and whole school performances. They will be encouraged to play with the Sibford Community Orchestra.
Assessment Criteria
• A short interview with the Head of Music which will centre around current commitment to music and the contribution that would be made to the Music Department should an award be received. All scholars are expected to perform regularly in groups and as a soloist and to take GCSE Music.
