Talent Scholarships

Art

Art scholars will be expected to display a keen interest in the subject and be able to articulate how they have been inspired by the work of established artists. Art scholars will be mentored and encouraged by our staff to develop their passion for art and be given opportunities to display and curate their work around the school. It should be their intention to pursue Fine Art or Textile Design as an examination subject, and they will be expected to take advantage of the many extra-curricular arts activities and spend a significant amount of time in the Art Department, collaborating with and inspiring others.

Assessment Criteria

• A timed observational drawing task to be completed at interview with the Head of Art.

• A portfolio of work that demonstrates talent. There is no restriction as to where this talent might lie, for example photography, digital media, drawing, painting, printmaking, or three dimensional design. However, students must take care to ensure that the examples included in the portfolio are their own, unaided work.

• A reference from a teacher or other professional.
