The Application Process Senior School Scholarships


You will need to complete the scholarship form and return it, along with a copy of your child’s most recent school report and evidence to support the application to: The Admissions Office, Sibford School, Sibford Ferris, Banbury OX15 5QL.


Applications for September entry should be received by the third Friday of the preceeding January.


The application will be reviewed and successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview/audition/trial. For Year 7 entry this usually takes place on the last Saturday of January. A separate assessment date (usually in early February) is arranged for Year 9 and Year 10 entry.


If successful at assessment, a scholarship offer will be made within a fortnight of the interview. Unsuccessful candidates will also be contacted at this stage.


In the event of a scholarship being awarded and accepted, candidates must make a formal application and register to join the school. This offer is dependent on a satisfactory reference from the candidate’s current school.


Please note: Students may apply for one scholarship at a time.


Applications for scholarships (both Senior School and Sixth Form) will not be considered without supporting evidence.


With the exception of International applicants, it is essential for a student to attend the scholarship interview/trial in person. International students applying for an academic/all-rounder scholarship will be interviewed via Skype if they are unable to attend in person.
